Susan has been a student of Iyengar Yoga since 1976. Susan completed her teacher-training in 1980 with senior teachers Maureen Carruthers and Dr. Bruce Carruthers, traveled twice to India to study with BKS Iyengar and continues ongoing learning with national and international teachers. She has taught weekly classes in Vancouver and North Vancouver for the past 27 years and has offered workshops locally and nationally. Susan teaches with sincerity, clarity and precision and touches each student with her contagious enthusiasm and sensitive hands. Susan has taught at national and international Iyengar conferences, is involved with training teachers, and has appeared on television in a series called ‘Beyond Medicine’, which promotes yoga as a tool for self-healing.

Sarah Godfrey

Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher SARAH GODFREY (Certified Iyengar Teacher)

Sarah has been a student of Iyengar yoga for 26 years. She attends workshops regularly with senior teachers and has been fortunate to attend classes with the Iyengars in Pune and Canada. She co-directs the Yoga Moves studio in North Vancouver with Susan Bull and has served with the local BKS Iyengar Assoc. for 17 years. Sarah teaches with clarity and compassion and hopes to kindle the passion of yoga in others so they too may experience its transformative qualities.

MAETEL GRANT

Yoga has been an integral part of my life since I was a University student 50 years ago. After completing my M.Sc. in Physical Education at the University of Illinois, I moved to Ontario and introduced Yoga classes to the YWCA. I opened my own studio in 1977 and studied in Toronto with Marlene Mawhinney, Lisa Schwartz and Ester Meyers. In the late 1980s I travelled to Pune with a group of Canadian teachers to study with Mr Iyengar and Geeta. Since moving to BC I have been teaching at the West Vancouver Senior Centre and for the last several years at Yoga Moves.

Dhana Musil

Dhana Musil is a certified Iyengar Instructor and Nutritionist. She has been practicing Iyengar yoga for 2 decades and teaching to both adults and children for 8 years. Blending her love for yoga, travel and children, she runs "Little Feet Yoga" out of several schools and is very passionate about introducing people of all abilities to the infinate joys of Iyengar yoga. MARK PEZARRO

Mark first studied Iyengar Yoga while pursuing graduate studies in England and took it up seriously 8 years ago as one of Sarah's students. He is currently in the Iyengar teacher training program and is teaching an introductory course for men. Yoga has been a powerful force in his life helping him bring body, mind and spirit into balance.

Morgan Rea

MMorgan started practising Iyengar yoga many years ago and is now a certified Iyengar Introductory Level II teacher. She attends regular classes and workshops with many senior teachers and is continually learning on her yoga path. Morgan believes yoga brings a freedom and openness to the body and to life, which enhances our lived experience. Morgan enjoys working with students to help find that freedom, and to ensure that yoga is accessible to all.

Gwynneth Powell Sobejko

Gwynneth has been a dedicated student of the Iyengar method since 1996. She completed a 3-year teacher-training program at Iyengar Yoga Centre of Victoria where she taught from 1999–2005. She is now very happy in her new home in North Vancouver that she shares with her partner and their cat. In 2004, Gwynneth studied for 2 months with the Iyengar family at the RIMYI in Pune, India. Inspired by the inward journey that yoga supports, and backed by a foundation in humanistic care services, Gwynneth is inspired to be guiding students toward self-care through the path of yoga.
